I would have loved to have gotten CUT & PASTE!!! I never realized just how important and time saving, CUT & PASTE really is, until not having it on the iPhone. I look forward to iPhone v2, but seriously doubt that I will purchase it, if no CUT & PASTE. I guess Apple figures, if no accessible file system (if unmodded) then why bother with CUT & PASTE. Hey Apple, there are alot more uses for CUT & PASTE than moving things into a file. Please Apple, I beg you!!! Next update for sure, CUT & PASTE...Mark:foot:

I really don't seem to have much need for copy/paste but I would really just enjoy some MMS. In the past 2 days I've gotten at least 10 "go to viewmymessage.com" MMS messages and it's just such an inconvenient hassle. Though, copy/paste would be useful trying to type the code into the fields correctly, but I usually just use my laptop to go to the site.

I'm quite satisfied with the update. The webclips are quite handy, and having iTunes in the dock is nice. The Google Maps update is wonderful as well.

I beleive that is only for the screen. If it does work, it dosen't work nearly as well as my other phones. It has to be like perfect lighting conditions for me to get a decent shot. I also noticed if I tilt the camera downwards I can get a little much needed brightness. Otherwise dark areas appear almost pitch black.

Doesn't bother me. Even on my computer, I delete emails one by one, to make sure I don't trash something I don't want to trash.

We all know that Jobs is kinda a control freak. He doesn't want us to think he was pressured into giving us everything we wanted all at once! My belief is that Apple will give us the goodies we've been asking for one update at a time. A little tidbit here, a little tidbit there, and some of these may appear after the release of the SDK as authorized 3rd party apps. Who knows?

Doesn't bother me. Even on my computer, I delete emails one by one, to make sure I don't trash something I don't want to trash.
I'm the same way, but since I keep a copy on the server so my home computer can d/l the same emails, I don't need to keep all the emails I get on my iPhone, so being able to select all and delete would be awesome!

The peeing thing reminded me of a restaurant in Amsterdam, it was a very swanky place, where the seating was there was one frosted glass wall that was about 12 feet wide. I went to the restroom, and that glass wall turned out to be a long trough urninal, so you are peeing right in the direction of where everyone is eating. I came out and sat back down and told everyone at the table what just happened, we looked at the glass and I said I was just standing there. :gasp:

But my list is like everyone elses. In semi order of importance:
1) FLASH
2) MMS
3) Video recorder
4) Copy Paste
5) Ability to use as harddrive
6) More photo options

I have a couple of things that I would really like to see:

- Cut & paste of course :laugh2:

- If I have a calendar event in Outlook that has an attachment, I would like to see it in the calendar entry. This happens so many times when I have a conference call at night and I need to refer to something. I have to power up my computer and go to the actual document in Outlook. Pain in the butt.

- Direct exchange server support. This is huge for me. Our IT department is unwilling to setup IMAP for our server, so this would be a huge step in supporting business customers

- Multiple message delete for e-mails. If I'm cleaning my GMail or Yahoo spam, sometimes I have to delete 30 message. What a pain, click minus, click delete, click minus click delete...ARGH!

- File access from Explorer or Finder. It would be great if I could put the iPhone in disk mode and save stuff. Free space becomes a thumb drive.

I could go on and on but I think I'll stop here.

Surprised more ppl don't ask for this... It seems like the camera can make the adjustments, when you tilt it around in differnet situations. I'm sure we'd get much better results if this was developed.

Maybe Camera Pro could tackle this?

I think the 1.1.3 update was a step in the right direction. But still the omission of MMS, copy/paste, A2DP, video recording, file access have me scratching my head.

I really do love the iPhone. I find myself at time wanting so bad to go back to it, but after having the Nokia N95-3 that can do anything and everything I want (even upload videos to YouTube), I have a hard time going back. For now my iPhone is just an iPod touch. I really hope version 2 has these features. I miss that slim figure and sexy screen.

Oh yeah, and I think the big draw of the iPhone is that its supposed to be a convergence device. The N95-3 as of right now is the ultimate convergence device. Yes it has flaws too. Hey Nokia, you ever heard of a QWERTY? lol I want the next iPhone to sport a camera like the N95 or N82 has. I know it will make it more expensive, but I really don't care. I paid $599 for the iPhone on iDay and $575 for my N95-3. I'm willing to spend to find that perfect phone.

I've still never seen an N-95 live, but they sure are massively capable. I think some news agencies now equip their reporters with them plus tripod for live reporting etc. Such a totally different sort of device to the iPhone though - worth keeping both if you can afford to ...

yeah it's pretty rare to see one live. Most people in the US don't really have an intrest in unlocked, unbranded, unsubsidized phones, they limit themselves to what they see in the stores. After having the N95 though, I'll never buy another carrier branded, locked phone other than the iPhone version 2 (if it has the improvements everybody is begging for)

That's true, and there are some very hot devices that come unlocked etc. via places like Expansys. Where did you buy yours?

I actually got mine on ebay. but I would not recommend that to anyone if they are not educated on the N95. There are lots of fakes floating around out there. The N95-3 actually has dropped in price with the announcement of the North American N95 8GB that is being released in Feb. that works with AT&T's 3g bands. I've seen the N95-3 on tigerdirect at $499 and Amazon and mobilecityonline.com around $520. Not really any savings getting it on ebay when they are priced that low through retailers who you could have peace of mind ordering from.
