Can't make or receive calls

I have a full 5 bars, can go on the internet and text but I cannot make or receive a call. When I try to call out it just beeps and says "call failed" and I can't get to my voicemail either. I've had the phone since it came out and have had no problems like this before.

Anyone know what I can do? I've powered off twice and tried to go outside for better reception and nothing is working.

I would suggest trying a restore. If that doesn't work, try taking the SIM card out and then putting it back in. Are you jailbroken/unlocked?

Nobody goes outside anymore.

So if you have had the phone since june then you may be housebroken or UnClacked??

What firmware are you on?

So what is the firmware?

I would suggest you have the download the latest version of iTunes, reboot the computer, then op it, dock the iPhone and do a restore.

If it does still not work then take it in to the Apple Hospital and let the doctors take a look at the patient.:smile:

Wait, you said you were not jailbroken.

Now you say you removed your sim card to restore??

Are you unLocked orig?

If not put the sim card back in and do a restore.......

nah i put the SIM card back in before i restored...just took it out and put it back in as suggested above

Try calling 611 and see if it goes through. And also (I've done this, but do it at your own risk) dial 911, let it force a signal and hang up before it starts to ring. Once the phone connects to the network, you should be good again.

Also, trying turning airplane mode on/off over and over again for a bit and see if that works.

If you tried a restore with doing the sim thing (which I do not recommend) and it still does not work then I would take it into apple for them to look at it.

Make sure you are not jailbroken or unlocked before you do.

Also ask for a brand new phone, not one in a white box, those are re-furbished.

I tried 611 and it didn't work and also toggled airplane mode on and off, but still nothing...only think I can think of is that the whole network is down in my area or that my phone is just f'ed up for some reason

Yea, but that sucks, dealing w/ ATT. If you can, call Apple and see if they'll do a handset exchange via mail for you.
