they can not and will not add gps to this generation of iPhone... its a hardware application that needs to be added. apparently they have location triangulation coming in the next update but we'll see. hopefully the next iPhone will have gps
edit: there is however, peripheral that can be purchased for gps... i should have added that

There has been rumors that the next upgrade will have a psuedo GPS by using triangleation of the cellphone towers.
If you are Jailbroken, that is already avail in 3rd party app.

The 3rd party app is called "Navizon" in case you're interested in giving it a try.

Don't forget the enhanced iBrate function for the ladies... apparently Apple saw this third party app and decided to come out with a more useful one.

Yeah, I own an iPhone.
Just so you know, there are many components that go inside a cell phone that are designed and manufactured by many companies. Even the smallest components come from very large companies. Some, even larger than Apple.

Actually, in terms of market cap, TI and QCOMM are smaller. I guess Apple is the largest as far as dollar value goes.
Texas Instruments made the TI-92 you used in junior high. You know, the same one you programmed all the Trig formulas in and used on the tests... oh wait, that was me!:laugh2:

LOL - well based on your following posts, I'm not sure if you're getting my oozing sarcasm. I thought you were, so maybe I'm the confused one now. So I'll be clear, just in case. :D
1. Yes, I am aware there are companies larger than Apple.
2. I am also aware who QComm and TI are, but I used the TI-85 and 86 because the 92 was outlawed b/c it could manipluate multiple variables
Sooooo... Hope were good here. :D Thanks for laughs.

My first computer was a TI-994A home computer. Still have it and it still works. Texas Instruments was huge in the 70s and 80s. They are still around but other than TV tech stuff, I'm not sure what else they are still into.
I know for years, if you opened up anything that was electronic, you would find the familiar TI logo on chips and other things in there.

I know. Of course we're good. I got the oozing sarcasm. Lol. You'd be surprised how many people look at the iPhone and think to themselves, "wow, Apple designed this whole thing." they don't realize how many large companies supply them. That's why I mentioned the likes of TI. I know you know they are big... Not as big as the pair posted by KNK though. LOL.
