After weeks of reading posts on cases, I took the plunge and purchased the Prima Low Profile Vertical Leather Jacket (yes it's a mouthful).

I liked the "naked" feeling of the iPhone. I didn't want to wrap it in a silicone skin, or attach some other lint magnet to it. I'm in the office most days wearing jeans, so pulling the phone in and out of pockets in a hurry to answer a call was always a challenge, especially if the jeans were tight. So I decided on a holster style vertical case to wear on my belt.

I received the Prima case today in the mail. My first impressions? It's a very slim profile leather case with no magnetic flap. The bottom portions on each side are cut out. iLounge.com didn't like this design because it took away from the protection of the phone. I agree with them, but I like the fact it shows the chrome of the phone, or when reversed just shows the black bottom. I find the design stylish, and plus it helps to hear the ringer with the sections cut out of the case.

The phone itself sits snug in the case with velvet lining pressing from both sides. It isn't too snug to pull the phone out, but rather it's just right. Going out for the first time with the case on my belt, I did find myself reaching back to make sure the phone was still in the case. The missing magnetic flap found on most Blackberry cases and such gave you a sense of ease. I just felt myself wondering if it had flipped over, and if I needed to upright it, or if the phone itself was pushed all the way in. The case (as of right now) is snug enough that even if it were to turn over, the phone would be secure. Now I don't know if you were to turn it over and do jumping jacks if it'd hold up, but you get the picture. My insecurities with the case are just me getting use to the type of case. I'm sure after a couple of weeks use I'll feel more comfortable.

Overall I am satisfied with the case. I was debating very hard between this case and the Seidio Vertical Leather case. I liked the magnetic flap of the Seidio case, but after talking with Seidio learned that the case was developed with a skinned iPhone in mind, not naked. And that if the naked phone were to be included in the Seidio case, it would be a little wobbly within the case.

I'll update this post in a few weeks to include any additional thoughts or findings.

I'm including some pictures of the case below and a link to Prima's Website.
