I know I have posted a thread on this and there have been ohters, but I learned some new info that makes this thread valid. Also, that info makes it hard to choose which I will get. Here are some pros and cons for both.
Apple
Pros
turns on and off with the iphone, sleeps when iphone sleeps
Is perfectly made for the iphone
Has that apple coolness
is small
can be charged in iphone dock
Cons
Expensive at $129
no noise canceling
has not been tested
Jawbone
Pros
noise canceling
8.7 rating (highest on cnet)
People say its good, and it has been tested
cheaper
looks nice
fits nice
Cons
not made by apple
looks big on face
does not turn off with iphone
does not have iphone integerated features like apples headset, and cool software that is used with apples headset may not be available.
Arg. So hard to choose. Please vote in the poll, and tell me what you know and think about each of these. I need help deciding.

Who is that post talking to? ^ Anyway I picked jawbone because it looks like the apple one may fall out of your ear.
Jawbone, hands down.
The Apple could easily fall out of your ear. Nice design, but design can't make up for its lack of functionality.
The Jawbone isn't really that bad in comparison to other headsets in the market. It's not as small as the Jabra JX10 but it isn't as big as some of the Plantronics.

i dont know. I think apples will be the most compatible with iphone, and unlock some featuures other headsets wont be able to. Apple knows their product.

I have a Jawbone and have for about 6 months. It is by far the best headset I have ever had, and I am still going to get the Apple one when it is available.

Compatibility doesn't really matter because it's bluetooth. Any BT headset will be fully compatible. As for additional features, having it turn on and off with the iPhone is cool. It all depends what you are looking for.

neither...i already have a motorolla one that serves me just fine.
besides, i don't use them in public so asthetics don't really matter.
public use of bluetooth headsets = huge d-bag

I really don't like the look of the jawbone.
I already have a moto bluetooh headphone, so maybe I will try that first, but I may eventually get the Apple one.
Honestly, though, I don't find much use in bluetooth hedsets, but that has to more to do with the way the have worked with phones I have had.
Perhaps the iPhone will change that.

Ask yourself this... Do you normally use your phone in noisy environments? If so, you should get the Jawbone. If not, you should get the Apple headset.

Even driving in the car is a noisy environment though. When I used a different headset the other day everyone was complaining about the noise compared to when I use the Jawbone. The noise canceling is soooooooooo sick.

Well it depends on the car. In my Lexus with the audio off and windows up, it's completely quiet. In my S2000, I have intake and exhaust sounds buzzing in my ear.

I drive an Infiniti G35 Coupe and a Porsche Cayenne both equally noise shielded but you can still tell a difference while on the headsets.

Well, with the Jawbone I drive a Grand Cherokee with a flowmaster 50 exhaust, with the windows down on freeway and I can hear great and the person at the other end has no problem either..(unless I am under hard acceleration from a dead start) :2cool:

Gizmodo just released this picture of the new dock that will hold both the iPhone and the bluetooth headset.

Could the price of the headset also include the new dock? That would be nice.

Thanks for the input Ranged, I think I'm gonna go with the Jawbone. The noise canceling is too much to pass over if you've ever been an BT earphone user.

I think the Jawbone is huge compared to my Jabra JX10. My Jabra paired and sounds great both directions. Online for about $75.

I bought the jawbone. I really like it. This is my first bluetooth headset b/c of the new driving law, plus it's just safer. I will be wearing this in public, probably feeling like a d-bag, but better than getting 95 people asking about my phone and wanting to touch it or mug me for it. (I'm a girl)

I bought the jawbone the Apple headset looks uncomfortable to me because its designed like their earbuds those make my ears hurt after about 30 mins. The jawbone is awesome check out my video review for a great example of the noise cancellation.

That was really short lived. After what I thought would be a great relationship, I'm returning the Jawbone tomorrow. The headset and it's technology is excellent. The reason I'm returning it is because the charging connector does not attach securely onto the headset. After what I thought was more than enough time to charge the headset (recommended 2 hours) I go to the headset to find that the indicator light is not on. Why? The charge plug managed to get disconnected from the headset. After a few attempts, I found that the plug is really clumsy and releases itself on it's own. It's a proprietary plug that Jawbone created. Not sure why when there's definitely enough room for a mini USB connection on the headset. I was able to get it to stay after a few manipulations of it's positioning and very careful attachment. Oh well. I sent a message to Jawbone to see what was in the works for this possible flaw. Hopefully it was only my unit that has this issue.

Its funny that the poll results are the way they are. If you read through these comments then you must wonder how in the world the apple BT headset is THAT far ahead of the Jawbone set???
Well as bad as I really really wanted to buy the Apple BT set I just couldn't. I bought the Jawbone and I couldn't have been more happy. The clarity and fit/feel of the JB is second to none. Yes its a bit bigger than normal, but it makes up for it in quality. It is the loudest BT earpiece I've ever had, and it has 6 volume adjustments.
CMAN- I hate to hear that about your Jawbone. I would guess that it was a defect in that one individual product. I know mine secures very snug to the connector. I actually have to pull it apart the connector quite firmly. I would think they would switch it out and you would be very happy with the new one.

R1 - I was hoping someone would report that. I'll look into getting another and see how it goes. I've been reading the reviews and haven't read any report about the charging connector so it may be an isolated incident.

The Apple headset comes with a base and charge cable which makes the headset around $60. I think it's a good value. The noise cancelling feature of the Jawbone is cool, but the low profile style of the Apple headset, the included base and charging cable and convenience win it for me.
P.S. It will stay in your ear.

I have the same issue with the Jawbone!
Either I'm mising something - or the stupid charging plug has no latch mechanism to hold it in place :(
I did however find a high-tech solution to the problem..
I use a rubber band to hold the charger in place!
Now for $120 - they should do better.

Should have mentioned - the Jawbone works far better with my iPhone than my existing Jabra BT800.
The Jabra took for ever to take over the call when I answered the phone - The Jawbone seems way faster at this.
Also I get better range from the Jawbone when I walk away from the iPhone.
I loose caller ID on the headset - which was cool on the Jabra, and also mute, which I could do from the headset on the jabra - don't think the JB does that???
I'll do some sound quality tests, in the car etc etc and compare - so far (in the office) JB sounds great!
Jabra used to give that 'underwater' sound in the car - so the JB can improve on that for sure!

The Apple bluetooth head set is a superior product hands down. And anyone who says $129 is too expensive look again at what is included....you get the earpiece, the dual dock charge, and the dual travel charger.

Oh geez so I thought I loved the Jawbone (after finally getting one that worked correctly). But then I looked in the mirror!! :gasp: It's fugly on my ear! It's going back. I already had the Apple headset on order but I stupidly cancelled the order yesterday. I re-ordered today but now my shipping date is set back about 8 days.

Dude don't pop an artery. Everyone here is Apple friendly for the most part. Things that attach to your person or go in your person are subject to personal opinion.
Apple makes a great product, but I have a Jawbone and it works great. I did have the charger issue, but I simple pushed the side in on the charger and had no problem.
I don't see any reason for dropping another 100+ bucks when the Jawbone works so well. I also hasten to warn everyone that the Apple BT may work as well as some of the bugs on the iPhone. I love my iPhone but I'll be glad when the first patch comes out.
Just my 2 cents,

Today, I bought both. I first got the Apple, and found that it could very easily fall out of my ear. The sound is not that loud, but it is adequate. I then got the jawbone. It did not fit well in my ear, and I tried all the attachments. I also made a call, and the other party kept saying 'What?','what',...so I returned it immediately.
I'm gonna try the earpiece adapter from jabra on the apple headset, and we'll see..
I just replaced my Jawbone with the Apple. It's a much slicker design, sound is better and louder (at least on my end), fits my ear better, looks better. No noise reduction, though. Neither work well in the wind. The dual dock and cable are brilliant!

Just got Iphone bluetooth. Does not fall out of my ear. I love it. It is a huge advantage to be able to charge my BT in my car with my iphone and also be able to tell how charged up the BT is. There is a cool iphone BT graphic above the iphone battery that lets me know where the charge is.

With all due respect, it won't stay in everyone's ear. I got mine yesterday and I can't stand it. It constantly feels like it is going to fall out of my ear, and if I even remotely turn my head quickly (say to look over my shoulder before changing lanes) it actually does fall all the way out of my ear. I am constantly playing with it just to keep it in my ear. Pushing it in further, changing its position, etc. And, even if it did stay in my ear, it is terribly uncomfortable while it is in.
It's driving me crazy and it's going back to Apple today.
It's sad, because other than this terribly annoying problem, I love it. I love the dual-dock, I love the look of it, and have no complaints about the sound quality.
I think I'll give the Jawbone a try.
