I love WinDVD. I haven't had any problems with it all all. What sort of problems have you had?

well, I've only supported it on the Dell systems at work, and it would freeze up, skip, and die on at least 50 % of our systems. Eventually even Dell stopped packaging it with our systems.
could have been the video card they installed, but something was definitely screwed up.

Just to watch DVDs? I use the regular "DVD Player" included in OSX...and the remote control that came with my MacBook Pro :)

DVD Player is included with all Macs. Like Greg said, I use the Mac Remote to control it. Just as good as a TV.

only reason i ask is because i was a bit dismayed to discover it isn't part of iTunes.

The iTunes will only play the movies that you import or buy,

yes, i just discovered that. I just think it's unusual that iTunes plays CDs, but not DVDs.

Never really thought of it that way, but the stand-alone DVD player in OSX works great.

can't you just use Media player for windows? That seems to work for me - when I use pc's.

For my Dell, I use Nero Showtime. Not the best, but it came with the Nero package. For my Mac, I use the native Apple DVD Player.

Here's a link regarding the use of Windows Media Player. It lacks a native decoder - forces you have to install a formal player like Power DVD, etc.
