Open iTunes and dock the phone, first sync the phone, then hit the restore butn and it will take you back to the original iPhone, then just go into settings on the phone and retype your password email suff. Also not for unlocked phones!

Is your phone unlocked?

Are you with AT&T? If so you are already activated, you do not reactivate.

The question to ask is have you bypassed activation to use a different ATT sim you already had.

If so, and you restore, you will have to activate or rejailbreak.

I used winpwn to upgrade to 2.01 so this way I wouldn't update the baseband. I have my original 2.0 backup. If I wanted to unjailbreak my phone would itunes take me back to 2.0 unjailbroken? Thank you.
