Anyone tried Camera PRO?

I just saw this and the features it offers are incredible, some of which are free. Zooming, image size, timer, burst mode, B&W, etc. Here's the link:

That looks nice.

It only runs on jailbroken iPhone's with Installer, so yes, it does require hacking. The page linked to states that there is a free version with zoom, color choice, etc, and a premium version that you pay for that had additional features.

If somebody manages to upgrade the video recording app so that it records for longer periods of time and so that you can save the file, and then combine of with this, I might just have reason to jailbreak again.

please dont telll me installer cause i have no clue how that thing works i tried downloading something like summerboard theme and it downloads no prob but then i dont know where it goes or wut i have to do to chane my theme so i end up unistalling it if u dont mind helping me out that would be greatly appreciated

You need installer to get the apps on the phone.

Sounds pretty good, but I'm trying to avoid hacking my iPhone. Since Apple is going to release their SDK in February and this shows a sort of "proof of concept", I'll probably wait for an official solution. I noticed the site states a price of $19.95 until Feb 2008, so one might assume that these developers plan to do just that.

I tried the free version, my pictures come out black and white even if I change to color or add color, also the zoom pictures are blurry and not clear. I don't think I would buy this, I was not impressed with the demo.

I already replace my default camera with this new camera pro app. It is virtually same camera with little more feature, so I replaced it.
Don't need burst mode so I don't know about that. Silen mode-> if you don't off ringer, it is silent, (makayama want money for this feature:frown:)

B/W works fine, but zooming is really digital zoom. Almost unlegible.
Conclusion, not worth $20.

by the way, you have to have mmi (modmyifone) source in your installer to see this.

I just jailbroke (I needed to access the filesystem to wipe out some old modified files) and tried it out.

The zoom is okay, but it does get blurry at a certain point. Still a nice feature to have handy. However, after about 10 minutes or so, the additional features (Burst, Timer, etc.) are disabled in the free version and you are prompted to buy it.

I too replaced the other camera with this, as it is a bit better with the zoom (payment not required), but no, it is not worth $20.

I installed it, took a 10 second look at it, and came to the same conclusion. If I need to zoom or have more features, I'll break out my digital camera.

$20 for something that can be done better by a real camera? Not a chance! $10? Nope. How about $5? IMO, it's not even worth that.

I do not see the point in not shelling out 20 for a program you think is worth using. You spent between 400-600 for in iPhone, and you cannot spare 20 for a program you like?
Just a word of caution, no one around here likes posters or posts requesting cracks or keys to get around paying for software- especially cheap software.

yea i think that he might be referring to like a universal key or something like that.... this is not likely... this is not a big thing like MS Word or Office or something that a lot of people want .. looks like you are paying the 20 bucks, i do have to say that 20 bucks is a heavy price to pay for the extra features.....

That is the windows equivalent of the hourglass. it's just storing the photo for you, and due to the fact that it's a different size/color/resolution/etc., it apparently takes a little longer.

Since I installed this, I also added the developer's url to my installer sources and I seem to be caught in an 'update' vicious cycle!! I have v1.07 but installer keeps telling me to 'update' to v1.02!! Anyone else have this prob??? I added the developer's url b/c v1.07 didn't seem to be showing up on the installer's other sources ...

That was a good observation. Made me wonder. I went ahead and turned off Edge using the Network Services program and then took a picture with it expecting a failure or some kind of error if it was actually trying to send the images out. Nothing, took the same amount of time to save the image into my Camera Roll as when Edge was on. I think that Hawk was right on the money in that this is nothing more than the same as the hourglass in Windows while it saves the file.
