until I get my case which is being shipped along with a screen protector what does everyone use to clean the screen without scratching it?

I use the cloth that came with the iphone and I also use a cloth that was given to me when I bought my sunglasses. Both work great!

I use hot breath and whatever shirt I'm wearing.
Trust me, if there was a shirt that could harm that screen, you wouldn't wanna wear it!
But if you're really paranoid, use the cloth that came with it. I also recommend the matte-finish screen protectors from the Apple store. They will greatly reduce the need to wipe down the screen.

I generally use my t-shirt or if I have one of the cleaning cloths from a pair of sunglasses I use that. I think most soft fabrics (ie, soft shirts and a microfiber cloth) would be pretty safe to use.

what about when there is spots on the screen, how would you clean the screen since the cloth apple provides won't clean anything but smudge marks?

I just dip mine in bleach. Antibacterial is the way to go!

I use iKlear (http://www.klearscreen.com/iphone.aspx). I bought it at an apple store and it works just fine. I only use this stuff periodically (when I take it out of my case).
Also, if you don't use them, the screen protectors are a great investment.

I use LCD screen pads from NEC. They work great on everything. Not sure where to buy them, I got direct from the company, but they do rock.

Hi,
I lost my black iphone cleaning cloth. It bothers me because I want the original cloth that came in the box. If anyone has an extra or is not using theirs, I am interested in purchasing it. If you can help please email me at porschebrown2007@gmail.com.
Thank you,
PB

i could have sworn i saw them on sale at the apple store, but i can't seem to find them on the online apple store... maybe i'm thinking of something else i saw.
I bought the iKlear but found it to be pricey. Supposedly, according to the iKlear propaganda, it chemically treats the screen to be resistant to dust, dirt, etc. So far, that seems to be a bunch of hooey. So while I still use it, for day-to-day cleaning while out and about, it's the $4.95 eyeglass cleaning kit from Wal-Mart that includes 20 travel towelettes, a microfiber cloth, and a 1oz bottle of cleaning fluid that they will refill for free!
Well, actually, I take the towelettes and microfiber with me, the bottle stays home. :)

hi,
i find the best way is to use a window cleaner on a disposable tisu and clean the screen, you can also clean the back and side of the phone and the dock and cable.
the above also works with disinfectant spray if you are worried about catching flu is someone with flu has used your phone (this will not clean the screen of smears and spots thow).
thanks

Zeiss pre-moistened lens cloths from WalMart. They work well on the entire phone. I'm kinda greasy.

1 drop of hand sanitizing gel works pretty well on the screen. Just don't use too much.

Are the chemicals safe for the iPhone screen though? I wish someone would start packaging (IDK, maybe they already are) small alcohol pad size wipes premoistened with distilled water. That would be completely safe and clean the screen so much faster than a dry microfiber cloth.

Completely safe considering the iPhone uses optical glass. I have used Zeiss wipes for months on my iPhone and for years on the plastic BlackBerry screens before that without a problem.
