Personally, I watch some of the same YouTube videos over and over. That being said, it's sometimes a pain to have to wait for the same video to load repetitively, especially over EDGE. After some research, this software is Spyware free, FREE, and converts YouTube videos to an iPhone ready format.
To use all you need to do is copy and paste the YouTube link in box 1, type what you want to name the output file in box 2, press convert, and you're video is ready to sync!
Download the software here (http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/download/FreeVideoToiPhoneConverter.exe).
Overview page located here (http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-Video-to-iPhone-Converter.htm).
Full instructions on using the software here (http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/guides/dvd/make-video-for-iPhone.htm).
Enjoy! :laugh2:

No software to download, simply paste your URL, select your format (MP4 for iPod) and click the Start button.
You'll get a download prompt when your video is ready.
Nothing wrong with your method, in fact it may even be a little more reliable, but me, i'm a stickler for simplicity.

I used to use online converters but they always gave me hassles. But if it works, all the better (no pesky extra software).

Ah, well, ok then. I have experience in this field from my Blackberry days, since you can't watch videos stream from youtube. The reason I thought what I thought is because there is/was a site that lets you copy/ paste a url to the site, and the site would convert the file to a downloadable, playable file (for the blackberry.) I thought you found the same for the iphone.
Great find. Now I can download that GOLD dancer girl video that Mernst has on another thread

After you (can) jailbreak your 2.0 phone you can just install mxtube. That does the same thing, but on the iPhone. No computer necessary.
