My iPhone was stolen :(

Hey someone broke in my car today and stole my iPhone...I was wondering if there is anything I can do to get it replaced with out having to dish out the full $400 again. I didnt purchase any additional insurance on it after i bought the phone so im not sure if im just SOL.

Alert AT&T (or whoever your carrier is) that your phone has been stolen. They should do something about it.

ATT can lock the device and make it unusable for that IMEI.. A colleague of mine had same story

You sure? From what i heard is that auto insurance almost never covers your cell phone and that you would have a better chance using your homeowners but that has a $500 deductible which would make it pointless to use.

yeah that would be pointless.... Im not really sure it depensd on who your insurance provider is.. I would call them up and ask..

The only positive is that my iPhone has been having alot of problems the last 2 weeks and doesn't work about 50% of the time. I was planning on going to the Apple store later during the day for that reason. I'm going in tomorrow and telling them about what happend and hopefully the thief is dumb enough to bring it to them for them to fix. Thing is i don't remember the serial number, can Apple look that up some how?
