Currently I'm listening to one of my over 7000 songs on my home computer while sitting at Barnes and Noble. This program rocks!

This can also be done with Orb and Telekenisis with out having to install anything on your iPhone. Great solutions for unhacked iPhones.

Until it blows up my phone, this program is justification alone for jailbreaking! Or should I say, the best program I've been able to add since jailbreaking.

Pretty cool app. Gotta have a solid wifi connection and you better turn down your torrent seeding
My only complaint: Viewing the music. It isnt organized, you see 25 or so songs at a time then have to click to see the next 25 or the previous 25... etc.
Now you can use playlists and that part is very clean.
Overall this app is great and I would love to see it evolve with more features and more organization. Would also be sweet to use it to view mp4 videos.

Hey reas0n,
I just installed this and sent you an invite. Btw, I dont think your friends need an iphone for it to work...they just need a Simplify Media account. They'll just have to use iTunes to view and play your shared music.

FYI: the newest version of Simplify Media Mobile (build 931) works with 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3 and 1.1.4 firmware. It has improved playback UI that displays complete track information. And, you can now advance to the next track or go back to the previous one right within the player.
We hope to have a new version very soon that will let you view lists by album, artist and genre. Navigation is fine when have set up playlists, but the view by options will be a big step forward for "all songs."

Is it in installer already or do you have to add a source?
paul_simplifymedia

It is in Intstaller via STE Packaging. It should be listed under Multimedia.

Last night we released an important new feature: iPod-like navigation. You can view libraries by artist, by album, by genre and by songs. We've also added an a-z sidebar so you can instantly jump to a letter in long lists. And, to celebrate 100K downloads, we've changed the label from alpha to beta.
Build 937 is available through Installer now (via STE) and works with 1.1.1-1.1.4 firmware.

I wanted to let you know that we have just released a new update: Simplify Media Mobile build 949. (screenshots (http://www.simplifymedia.com/blog/build949.jpg)) Our goal was to implement our most requested features so this new version has:
+Album art - using Amazon Web Services to search for a match. In the future we will display the cover art already associated with the file for increased accuracy and rely on Amazon as a fallback.
+Artist bios - from last.fm. These user-created bios are distributed under the GNU free document license.
+Lyrics - courtesy of lyrics wiki and also user-generated and distributed under the GNU free document license.
+Shuffle - select Shuffle from the top of any song list, and the tracks from an album, a genre, an artist or a playlist will be randomized for your enjoyment. It even works with the All Songs list.
There are still many refinements to make, but we hope enjoy the latest release. Next up are refreshes for our Mac, PC and Linux versions. As always, if you have a problem, select Report Issue or drop us a line at support at simplifymedia.

Wow, I just downloaded and used it. This is absolutley amazing. Your Itunes does not even have to be open. Very cool how they give artist info and pictures for songs that I dont even have pictures for on Itunes.
Im very impressed. I wonder how far away from your pc you can be?

This app is frickin' awesome! Although I have to admit that since I'm so old I doubt anyone would like my music it's still very cool to be able to play my music, and other peoples music, without having to download every song. I showed this app to a guy at work who has a virgin iPhone and I believe he's planning on jailbreaking tonight just to get this app.
By the way, if anyone wants to send me an invite my screen name is gadeputy. I'll try to add more songs to my list. Hope you like oldies and classic rock.

here is what i found but i dont ahve the time to try it out.
Here's How:
You can download a free program called OpD2d. This is a direct-to-disk utility that records audio from your sound card.
See below for the URL to download it.
Install OpD2d.
Launch the program and use your mouse to point to the different controls on the interface. Pop-up help will quickly explain each function.
Choose where you will save your audio file (in .wav or mp3 format) then enter the Windows audio mixer:
Start
Menu
Programs
Accessories
Entertainment
Volume Control
and select STEREO MIX as your source.
Begin streaming your audio and try recording for a few seconds. Then, listen back to the output file you just recorded and if it's too low or to hot (distorted), adjust the level of input in the Windows Mixer.Tips:
Although it doesn't tell you anywhere on the program, to exit OpD2d, press ESC and it closes. What You Need:

Now all I wish is that it would work on Edge so when I'm traveling in my car I can listen to everyone's music.

I just added 620 more songs to my collection. I still don't have as many songs as some of you but at least now I have enough to justify sharing with people. Most songs are oldies and classic rock.
By the way, has anyone else had the same thoughts about this program that I've had? Once they get it working over Edge and also have the ability to stream video it won't matter how much storage we have on our iPhones anymore. A 4GB iPhone would be more than enough to load games and apps on. No more storage needed for music and videos. That would be awesome.

Sorry for being away from the thread for so long. Not surprisingly, we've been busy working on a version of Simplify Media for 2.0. Although it will not run in the background, it does have a number of improvement, like support for EDGE and 3G.
While we wait for App Store approval, we've decided to run a small Beta using "ad hoc" distribution. If you would like to be one of the 100 people we can share Simplify Media with, and you are using 2.0, send us your UDID via emal to support at simplifymedia dot com.
Thanks for the help!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but so far there's no way to view the library on someone else's iPhone right? The only feature I can see is the ability to look at one's iTunes library.

This application seems to work fine using only Edge. It takes a little longer for it to update your library and play songs, but I tested it and it works fine. This is great, I have my phone synced to two of my computers with a combined 18+ GB of music! SWEET!
