PDS when I saw your new avatar I was very confused as I hadn't kept up with your reveal thread after you posted it initially. I have to say also that it takes a lot of guts to admit you made a mistake and tell the truth. Not to bring up old stuff but there was a member here not to be named that was 15 and swore to all of us he was 19 even though we all knew he was lying. If he hadn't pretended he was something he wasn't none of us would have cared that he was fifteen. Honesty is a good quality. The black is plastic, its just matte instead of shiny.

Honestly, the best way to learn is to get out there and do it.
3 things to help:
1) don't be afraid of getting water in your face. I always see someone that has their face all scruntched up trying to dog-paddle, but failing because the are trying to keep their face dry.
2) swimming underwater is easier than on top. And opening your eyes is fine for short periods - unless you wear contacts.
3) relax and do what feels natural. It is the FASTEST way to learn how to move and manuver in the water.

I used to be a lifeguard and teach swimming lessons.

1. Get lessons. Do not be embarrassed about sucking. It will take practice.
2. Relax in the water to float. Make all your limbs real loose, like you are dead. You have to learn to put your face in, relax, and float before you can swim.

-I bought 3 pairs of shoes with the "fall season code" for $50.88 dollars!

Well anyways the order said that it was sent to AE in preperation for processing+shipping of w/e, then they send me an email saying that the card was not working. I was like it was just activated it and its coming straight from my account that doesnt make since! So I called my bank and they told me the problem was that my "Debit" card coupled with my "type" of bank account could on be used to withdraw money from my account which I think is useless cause if I need to buy something I gotta leave the store or something go FIND an ATM machine and get money then comeback instead of having a "checking" account so that the Debit card would actually be somewhat useful ya kno:angry:

Do you guys ever get bruises that you have no idea where they came from? I know it comes with being uber-skinny like yours truly, but seriously, I have this shiner on my knee that looks like it woulda made me cry when it was inflicted. But I have no memory of it.

PDS-I live near a city Huntington Beach where there is a street that takes you to the beach (Beach Blvd.) years ago some guys were racing down that street. One lost control and jumped into the other side and hit a car head on then rolled and landed in a busy parking lot. Those kids not only took out a whole family with 3 small little girls in the car and their mom and dad, they also took out themselves and a couple of people in the parking lot. All because they were being stupid. You never know what can happen. Why risk that. How many families where devastated that day. How many people where traumatized by what they saw that day. It's not worth it.
At high speeds sometimes there is no way you can control the car if you lose control. I know you were not on a busy street but you guys could have lost control and killed yourselves!!

Unfortunately, you have your pick of things that could cause bruising... Hemophilia, Leukemia, or as MHrob said, a simple potassium deficiency.
If the bruises are smaller than a golf ball and lightly colored, your probably ok.
However, large and deep/dark bruises are a serious indication of something else and you should see a doctor at your earliest convenience. He/She will confirm with simple blood tests what's going on.

Hah, I wish I could whip them out on cue, but they are apparently always flukes. I was completely hammered when I took the pic in this avatar... at a wedding... didn't discover it till several days later. I'll let you know next time that happens.

I spent all day on the river in an innertube with another innertube strapped to the back of it with a huge cooler full of ice and beer strapped to that, surrounded by great friends (who were hanging around me because I had the beer). Tubing the Kern River from Lake Ming to Hart Park. I bet I made that trip 25 times in 28 years. Funny though, once I bought a home on the river below Hart Park I never did it again.
