Random contribution to the EIC thread...but I just got back home - barely! I cannot believe the flooding that's going on...there are already fatalities from people being swept off the road and pinned in cars. Water is already over the road that leads to my home, with the rain still pouring it will be impassable within the hour. Any other Midwesterners experiencing the same thing? Sheeeeesh

yeah there was some bad flooding here. A 14 year old just about a mile from where I'm at was swept away by rushing water into a drainage tunnel. they are still searching for him, but I'm sure that they won't find him alive. Was at the Mavs game last night and there was some high water when leaving the arena. It's nice today though, sunny and cool.

We stayed up most of the night moving furniture and soaking up water. If we are lucky the only room that will need new carpet is the master bedroom. I have hardwood all through the great room and so on and im pritty confadent we saved all of that. It could have ben allot worse. And its gona take weeks to get the house back to normal. I'll throw some pics of the mess up later.

Back in Florida, if you were in a flood zone a lot of banks would require you to get flood insurance.

I own one purse a LV .. and I'm so not accessory.. I did all that on stage that now if I own 5 pairs of earrings and shoes I'm doing good.. This is true!

I do get some as gifts, and I love the Coach outlet. Very cute purses at a lesser price. My MIL always gets me a nice purse for Christmas.

so farr the damage is.
a. Some of the hard wood floors are starting to buckle.
B. Carpet in four bedrooms is wet. Atleast one of wich is ruined.
c. All furniture seems to b fine after much cleaning.
D. A rug I paid 600$ for is still out in the yard drying out.

I havnt touched the garage yet but everything in the garage is wet. We use the it mostly for storage unfortunatly.
I paid a little over 200k for the place about nine months ago. The house is only six years old.thats about all the update I can give at this point. I'm working on puting pic up over at irovr of the place before the flood first because at only 23 I was a very proud home owner. The house was truly beautifull to me at least. With in the next few days I'll try to get some up of the damage.

Yes, there are bugs. No, the Normal Version button does not work. Yes, the design isn't great for some. Just be glad Chris didn't decide to shut down the site while he's doing the maintenance. at around 1.45 AM est I left the forum, because I refused to watch DepthNerd flame.

at around 11-11.30 AM, I caught wind that Depth had been banned.

it would be unforunate to see OJ get the DN treatment. But OJ has a way with words that most people like him. He seems to have an innate ability to get ever so close to crossing the line but not completely crossing it. I fear that one day he might test the limits too much, but until then I will enjoy reading his posts :2cool:

I like OJ. I don't agree with some of his posts, but do agree with most. I don't agree with the post about homosexuals, but he's entitled to his opinion i suppose. He didn't go into much detail on it, just said he had a problem with it. I can respect him for stating it. People need to learn to be thick skinned and move on and ignore a persons opinion if it offends them. I'll be honest, somebody's opinion, as irrational as it may be won't offend me on here. I really don't care what most people think that are hundreds of miles away from me. Self centered? Perhaps, but the only people who I'd really be offended by are those people who I know and am close to. There are a few people on here whom through the course of chatting on here whose opinion I may highly value and it might bother me a bit, but other than that, who cares what somebody says. That's not to say that I'm a jerk and don't value peoples feelings on here. I do, and that's why I keep my more radical views to myself. Maybe OJ just has bigger juevos than me LOL

Halloween comes around every year. It takes up a major portion of a
parking lot at the San Antonio city park.

The notes are from an inexperienced Chili taster named Frank
who was visiting from Springfield, IL.

Frank: "Recently, I was honored to be selected as a judge
at a chili cook-off. The original person called in sick at
the last moment . And I happened to be standing there at
the judge's table asking for directions to
the Coors Light truck, when the call came in. I was assured
by the other two judges (Native Texans) that the chili
wouldn't be all that spicy and, besides, they told me I
could have free beer during the tasting, so I accepted".

Judge # 1 -- Meaty, strong chili. Cayenne peppers freshly ground, adding considerable kick. Very impressive.
Judge # 2 --Chili using shredded beef, could use more tomato. Must admit the cayenne peppers make a strong statement.
Judge # 3 -- My ears are ringing,sweat is pouring off my forehead and I can no longer focus my eyes. I farted and four people behind me needed paramedics. The contestant seemed offended when I told her that her chili had given me brain damage. Sally saved my tongue from bleeding by pouring beer directly on it from the pitcher. I wonder if I'm burning my lips off. It really pisses me off that the other judges asked me to stop screaming. Screw those rednecks.

Chili # 6 Pam's Very Vegetarian Variety...
Judge # 1 -- Thin yet bold vegetarian variety chili. Good balance of spices and peppers.
Judge # 2 -- The best yet. Aggressive use of peppers, onions, and garlic. Superb.

My shirt is covered with chili, which slid unnoticed out of my mouth. My pants are full of lava to match my shirt. At least during the autopsy, they'll know what killed me. I've decided to stop breathing it's too painful. Screw it; I'm not getting any oxygen anyway. If I need air, I'll just suck it in through the 4-inch hole in my stomach.

Judge # 1 -- The perfect ending, this is a nice blend chili. Not too bold but spicy enough to declare its existence.

Sorry to see that most of it was lost when Judge #3 farted, passed out, fell over and pulled the chili pot down on top of himself. Not sure if he's going to make it. Sounds like a lot of you have never experienced dialing into a local text-based BBS number and posting a message in a FidoNet thread so it would propagate to all the hundreds of affiliated BBS systems over the following 24 hours. Crude but it worked!

absolutely. we grew up with Apple IIe's in the school and in the house, playing Zork and Oregon Trail and Maniac Mansion. i didnt learn of forums until '94 through AOL and didnt join one until i found EIC in '07

we actually. When I first signed in I only used ifonebone because I thought there was no way that bone was available. But anyways I just sent a pm to criss explaining to him that I would really love to have my name just Bone and I was about to post my 1000th. So I asked if there was any way he could change it after my 1000th.

I'm sure he gets many pm's a day and probably just an accidental oversight on his part. besides, chris doesn't seem the type to get mad, he was pretty patient with some other members that were actually causing problems.
