I did not see a posting of this, sorry if there is one

I noticed there is a GBA (gameboy advanced) emulator, which is AWESOME, one problem is when i put the games in there (like the NES emulator) but then it says i Need a BIOS, how do I put a bios in the folder in order to run these games and where can I obtain one?

Thanks

LOL. You two are funny. "emadulator"? Go to Installer on your phone, if you have it. It's called "gpSPhone" (for some reason). Here are directions I got from another post

1. Install it from installer.app (under games)
2. Install fugu on your computer
3. search gba_bios.bin on google and click on the first result
4. Go to settings on your iphone, then general, auto lock and set it to never
5. Go to settings, wifi, click on the blue arrow next to the wifi service your using then write down the ip address
6. Open fugu and do the following:
Put in your iphones ip address, for username write root, press connect, then wait a little while, then for password put in alpine
7. At the to click on the hard drive sign then go to applications/gsphone and drag the gba_bios.bin file into it
8. Download roms from romsite.net
9. Then create a folder under media called Roms the on named gba
10. Put the roma into gba folder through fugu
11. Then open the emulator, press the start button, use d pad to go to load new game and use the b button (wich is a), make sure the 2 dots are highliged in white then press b, and then the 2 dots again, then select VAR, then root, then roms, then gba, the use the d pad sideways to choose your game, then select it by pressing b
12. Then play your game! The buttons are kinds messed up (like b is a) but just figure them out yourself

Have fun!

ok gba emulator just updated, I downlaoded new version, you no longer need to do that step with the gba_bios.bin

Although it froze my iphone my first time loading a game..

Remember that step you thought you didn't have to do anymore? Well you still have to do it. Without a valid copy of gba_bios.bin placed in the game's folder it won't--can't--work.

Assuming you can't use SSH/SCP, download iShare from Installer, upload the file on your Mac using SendSpace.com, then download it to your iPhone using iShare--placing it in /Applications/gpSPhone.app.

This program is available via installer. No need for ibrickr (except for ROMs.)

Not true - you can upload GBA ROMs to SendSpace via your Mac or PC, then download them to your phone via iShare. Even on edge, it only took about 4 min. to download a 4MB GBA ROM. Not too bad...

I wasn't implying the only way to get ROMs onto the phone was via iBrickr.

What I WAS implying was that iBrickr is not the ONLY way to install the app.

Why would you think anyone thought iBrickr was the only way to install files? I didn't get that impression.

You can't use iShare to create folders--the folders must already exist.

Use Mobile Finder to create the needed folder(s) if need be.

Guys here use this:
(I know this is for NES but it will also work for GBA roms)
1. Acquire an FTP client. I use filezilla, as it is fast, reliable, and free.

2. Install the BHD SubSystem and SSH through Installer.app.

3. Get your iPhone onto a WiFi network and write down it’s IP Address. You can get this by going to Settings, Wi-Fi, and click the blue arrow of the network you are connected to. Your IP will be at the top, remember it.

4. Launch filezilla and click the Open Connection icon. Drop the protocol down to SFTP. For server, put your iPhone’s IP address, and use port 22. The username is “root” and the password is “alpine”. or if you changed it it will be whatever you changed it to..

5. Once you are in, you need to create a folder titled “ROMs” in var/root/Media. Then, in this folder, create one titled “NES”. Capitalization is important!

6. Now, simply drag and drop your NES roms into this newly created folder and you are good to go!

**I DO NOT TAKE ANY CREDIT FOR THIS GUIDE**

this is annoying the roms should be downloadable directly from installer, similar to the nes roms

Heres how to do it with windows XP (or at least how i did it)
Scroll down to the very bottom for easier and quicker way!!!

1. Jailbreak you iphone or itouch
(tutorial- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Uy00QsBO2c)

2. Launch Cydia, go to search, then type in your search box "gpSphone"
(you might have to add a source, i dont know the exact source link, but it is developed by ZodTTD)

3. Hit search and scroll down to the G's, and find it, then install it.

4. While it is installing, you can download "IphoneBrowser" to your Windows computer, this will allow you to insert the GBA Bios file.(http://iphonebrowser.googlecode.com/files/SetupiPhoneBrowser.1.81.exe)

5.Go to www.google.com (http://www.google.com) and search gba_bios.bin, and click on one of the links, or download here (copy and paste into browser)
http://rapidlibrary.com/download_file_i.php?qq=gba bios bin download&file=3605922&desc=gba+bios+.bin

6. After you have succesfully installed IphoneBrowser onto your computer, connect your iphone or itouch, and click the IphoneBrowser icon, wait for it to pop up.

7. go to "var/Mobile/Media/ROMs/GBA", and put the gba_bios.bin file you downloaded in step 5 in there, OR you can go to "/applications/gpSPhone.app" and copy and paste gba_bios.bin into there, either way works, i did the second one.

8. Reboot, or Respring you Iphone or Itouch, and you are set to go.

Easier Way- I dont know if it works, but it should.
1. Go to Cydia
2. Search for GBA BIOS
3. Install it
4. Easy as that
