i've uploaded my cd's and downloaded music and ringtones thru itunes ... since my iphone came with NO SOFTWARE allowing me to hardwire and download directly from my hard-drive ... are there any alternatives to itunes ??? newby would appreciate some help...thanx

thanks for the info..... same old apple... built a superior product----- keep it all to your self---- and get top dollar .....i'm not unhappy with itunes ..... some alternatives would have been nice..... thanks again

I see no need for an alternative. iTunes is great, and works wonderfully with the iPhone.

ringtones .... not a need - certainly a desire. ... all those songs and so few with bells.

Ideally, you should just be able to just add/remove mp3's as if it was just a storage device and iTunes would display all the metadata with each mp3 to help you organize.
