Do native apps drain batteries?

It seems that since I installed a few native apps, my batteries is going down like crazy. Anyone else noticed?

Some 3rd party apps do drain the battery faster. If you have SSH installed that's a big one as it's running whenever your phone isn't in sleep mode.

Thanks. I don't have ssh installed but I guess I've beeen playing way too much with my phone since I installed 3rd party apps. That's why my batteries go away so fast...
