I had asked in the other thread about the big excitement over this because we have web functionality and can go to YouTube though that. After seeing the demo though, I get it. too cool.
I NEED MY iPHONE NOW!!!!!!!

Is anyone else not at all excited about this new feature?
I barely use Youtube as it is....but, I can see the reason for including it, from Apple's standpoint. Oh well, I guess the phone already does *almost* everything else I want, one more button won't hurt...just doesn't really excite me.. haha

Not a huge excitement for me neither. I mean, will we have access to EVERY YouTube video out there and not some "Top Videos of the Day" list? If I'm to get excited over this, I want every video available to me.

I still wouldn't find it to be very exciting...
I like Youtube, but I don't ever go there, unless there's something specific someone tells me to go see. Now, if Apple would have put a video camera in the phone, and you had the integrated Youtube app that could upload your cell phone videos to Youtube, THAT WOULD BE AWESOME. THAT would get me excited! :)

I don't get it. Why couldn't we just go via safari?

because all the videos on youtube.com are flash videos. iPhone doesn't support flash video. but now they are converting to h.264 so I assume there is a slightly different site (maybe m.youtube.com for mobile) that will allow you to play the h.264 videos and the widget is a direct link to that...I think. :)
Wow! 12th icon solved! While I'm not a YouTube junkie I do like going to YouTube to find a video I am looking for.
The thing that catches my attention is the streaming over EDGE. I think this is a significant development that shows the network is more useful than we think.
