iTunes to iPhone?!?! [Archive]

Maybe a silly question, but do you **Have** to get all music from iTunes if you want music on the iPhone???

What do you mean get all music from iTunes? If you mean do you have to sync with all your songs, no. You can select to only sync certain playlists. I created playlist called iPhone which I sync with the phone and it only syncs that playlist.

you MUST use iTunes to sync with your computer.
however, you do NOT need to download songs from iTunes to use them on your iPhone. You can import MP3s from your computer, or just insert CDs and rip them into iTunes.
Other than free songs from iTunes promotions, I have NEVER purchased ANYTHING from iTunes, and I have over 1200 songs on my iPhone :)
