Downloading more than 1 podcast at a time - what happened?

I use to press the refresh button on the podcast page, and Itunes would quickly check all 25 of my subscribed podcasts to see if there was a new one. If there were 10 new ones, it would download all of them at the same time.

For some reason, now it checks 1 at a time and only downloads one at a time as well - taking much longer to do this process?

What happened?
