that you would consider putting on your iphone. I know this is not the place to post this, but I fear it wont get answered. If you dont like me posting this here, dont post so the thread will dissapear.

This is an important question because I have no idea which case I will be getting and we are only 2 weeks away.

Just remember that apparently... Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2007/06/15/further-iphone-launch-day-details-unearthed/) has let us know that there will be a plethora of stuff for the iPhone on launch day - I wouldn't fret, there'll be a million things you can buy right along with your iPhone.

My plan is to apply a full-body shieldzone invisibleshield (if I can confirm that those will be compatible with the screen).

I also ordered one of those $3 silicone cases from eBay, just in case I ever need extra protection.

But the problem is: I like to be prepared and if I am not I may spend a lot of time in the store deciding. That is not what I want to do, I want to play with my iPhone!:tounge:

I was going to buy the invisible sheild, but It may not be so invisible. Reading some reviews they said it had a lot of bubbles. Also, how easy will it be to take off if i dont like it. I dont want that leaving any marks on my phone.

I have one installed on my 5G iPod and there are NO bubbles. You do have to be patient when applying it though. The visibility is great, you can hardly tell its there at all. I have not tried to take mine off, but according to shieldzone.com, you can simply peel them right off.

I like the Marware Quick Vue. But I don't know how the phone is secured in the case. Here it is, the first one on the left http://www.marware.com/site/iLounge.html

So, does it impare the screen? is it really that invisible?

I personally like this one. the one on the top left. This is because the only time I can see myself scratching it is when it is in my pocket. This case is good because when i need a case I have a case, and when I dont I dont.http://www.marware.com/site/Images/iLoungeStaticImage.jpg

I think so, the only way to see the actual texture of the protector is to allow light to reflect off of it in a certain way.

I will do a comparison tonight. I also like the Belkin Acrylic Case, but it comes out in July.

Yeah, i like that top left one, too.
I don't need or want a clip or the headphone cord wrangler thingy...
That is actually the best kinda case you can have for that phone, 'cause it'll save the phone if you drop it, you con't have any extra crap on the side (like the clips and stuff), and you can just flip it open, interact with the screen, and just close it back up when you're done. Perfect.

If I end up buying the iPhone, i'll prolly get that quickvue case. That looks like the best solution...
Another bonus, you can still keep the phone in your pocket (ultimate holding spot) and it won't get scratched, AT ALL. That is perfect.

Although, I do see a problem when you go to answer it....gonna be kinda clubsy having to pull it out of that case, then you're standing there with case and phone in 2 hands....

I didn't mean it in a mean way. Just stating that I had my eye on that case also. But lets say you have it clipped to your belt and someone calls. Can you just flip it open and take the phone out? Because it doesn't look like it's strapped inside of the case. It seems like it would fall out if you opened the case while it was clipped to your belt.

Just an educated guess. No. It's probably not worth their time. They have enough irons in the fire as it is. Besides they make a ton o' cash off everyone else's cases they sell.

Making their own case would be a lot like poking their soft goods partners in the eye. Kinda like Microsoft did when they made the Zune.

(FYI, I don't sell my stuff through Apple.)

the proximity sensor is in the top ear speaker which is not ususally covered. and inn cases that do cover it they also cover the display.

If you can afford them, Vaja cases are drool-worthy.
They don't a pic of the iPhone case yet, but you can see some of the others that they make at www.vajacases.com/home/home_en.html
I have one for my iPod and it is the best case I've seen.

Nice cases definitely, but I'm not sure I want a case where the phone is in it permenately (sp). I want to be able to enjoy the styling of the phone but at the same time, protect it in times where extra protection is required (inside my softball bag, in a backpack, etc).

Marware seems to fit that bill, however the proximity sensor thought is an interesting issue...

Honestly, the proximity sensor should not be a problem for any of the cases on the market. The only thing the proximity sensor does is turn off the screen. It doesn't turn off the other features of the phone.

I didn't think of it that way...hell, when it's inside the type of case I'd like, it's GOOD it shuts the screen off (if it's not already sleeping). Ok, no longer wondering about the proximity sensor. :)

I'll second that!

I have owned a number of Vaja iPod cases and each one has practically screamed 'quality'. And, they wear like iron.

Trust me....they are worth the couple extra dollars you'll pay for one. Once you have one....you'll throw rocks at every other makers' case you see.

http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/images/I/51%2BUGGk%2BQWL._AA280_.jpg

Keeps the iPhone safe, screen protected, but headphone ports still accessible.

Also has a neat cut-out that speeds you getting the iPhone out of the case!
