look people heres the deal i have just bought an iphone today 10/12/07 and im not sure if it has the 1.1.1 software or the 1.1.2 .... my freind has it unlocked for tmobile and thats the reason i bought it ...but im not sure how to unlock it ..... it asks me for all the at&t information wich i dont have and dont want at&t ....so please some one help me unlock it ..:angry:

Hey dude,
I can't tell you how to unlock it, I bought my phone yesterday.
But I can tell you how to check the firmware version.
Get to the emergency dial screen and dial this
*3001#12345#*
Then press "Call" button-> a menu pops up.
Press "Versions" Button.
If it says Firware version 03.12.06_G or 03_14_08_G then you are running firmware 1.0, 1.0.1, or 1.0.2.
If it says Firware version 04.02.04_G or 04.01.13_G then you're running firmware 1.1.1.

yea 1.0.2 i have fiquered out that i do not have 1.1.1 thank god but now how do i unlock it ....first how do i activate it without having to sign up for at&t....

Here's how you unlock your phone.

Move your mouse to the top of the screen and click on that little button called search.

Type in any number of different search terms that involve the words unlock and 1.0.2.

Dude, I'm sorry I can not help TOO much but I promise you that I have seen these questions and a little effort in SEARCHING will more than likely grant you acceptable results...

I use AT&T... otherwise I could help you out

i was on the same page as you.. confused!..
you dont have to get att to get into your phone.. its at the main screen outta the box, right?

the only problem i had was STEP 4:frown:.. it wasnt right so i googled it instead

for step 4...If your iPhone is already off, there's no need to turn it on and then off again. press and hold the "Home" button and plug the iPhone into your Mac or PC. Keep holding the "Home" button until you see a yellow triangle and text which says "Please Connect to iTunes". You can now release the button.
then go onto STEP 5...

for me, i put all the programs that are needed(also on the link i provided) into one main folder with sub folders on the windows xp desktop of my computer and went from there..
