I installed a few apps on my iphone, but they seem to be slowing it down, so i was curious if there was anyway to restore it to before i added the apps. I figured that if i deleted all my apps i could restore the phone to the updated version, true.

You can do a restore thru itunes. You should sync before doing so, because the restore will also delete your music, contacts etc.
