How can you tell of a phone has been thru jailbreak or just modded.
Am I correct that just modding the phone wont brick it during the upgrade but jailbreaking the phone prior to upgrade will?
I can't remember if jailbreak was run on the phone or not even tho its on at&t.

You have to jailbreak inorder to mod your phone. If you upgrade to THE lastest version of the firmware you will lose yours mods, but you won't brick your phone. You will only brick your phone on THE upgrade if you have unlocked your phone to use it with another carrier.
