How to prevent iTunes auto launch?

How can I prevent iTunes from launching every time I put my iphone in its cradle? I just want to charge the phone!

Also, If iTunes is running, is there a way to prevent it from becoming the focused application?

In iTunes go to preferences and click the iphone tab.
Check 'disable auto syncing' for all iphones.
