Cingular and/or AT&T

I don't know if this is considered off-topic, but when is the Cingular name/image going to be dropped completely?

All of the service advertisements and articles that I've seen still refer to the exclusivity of the iPhone and "Cingular" rather than "AT&T".

I didn't know if there was any significance to this fact...?

Can you only purchase through Cingular? Do you have to have a plan with Cingular?

I think they are de cingularlizing (?) at&t. I believe it is completely official at the end of the month. I know they are rushing the transfer process.

I have the VoIP AT&T Call Vantage system plus Cingular (now AT&T). The interesting thing is that if you have both, AT&T will knock $10 off your Call Vantage and make it a package. They did it for me a few weeks ago.
