1) Is hacking a phone the same as opening it?

2) Is the rbst option a true option that won't void the warranty if I won't to rid my phone of crumby icons?

Hacking and Opening to add 3rd party applications is 'JailBreaking'

Hacking so can you use it with another provider is 'Un-locking'
