iphone syncing, takes forever to sync photos, and never finishes sycning.

I got the new itunes 7.4.2(whoopy!) and now it seems that it takes forever (or never finishes) to sync just a few SMALL things for my iphone. I decided to test it, and do 7 photos, boom, sync, and it's been syncing for over 20 minutes. any ideas? I have never completed one successful sync. This is dumb, and I need help. :angry:

Thanks, I've traced it to the Photos, and the problem disappears if I move my photos file (that I want to sync) out of My Pictures and into another file UNDER My Documents (I heard that a whole folder tree gets corrupted).
