Stupid iPhone question

Ok I was wondering if there is any way to turn off auto synch on my iPhone. I understand if I plug my phone into someone's computer and it synchs that because my files arn't in their iTunes they will be deleted from my phone.

I really like the fact I can charge the phone with a USB cable but the idea of loosing all of my files because their iTunes is set up to auto synch kinda sucks.

Is there any way around this?

can't you just "not sync" it when you plug it in? doesn't it give you that choice?

Edit: Sorry, I don't think there's a way to avoid that auto-sync. Only turning it off on iTunes before hand.

Before you hook up your iPhone to a non-host pc open iTunes and click on preferences(might be option in windows), click on the iphone tab.

Click 'Disable automatic syncing on all iPhones'.
