i think my iPhone is racist

so yea, i was typing a note in my iPhone, and i discovered that it's racist.

i was taking an order for my friends, making a wendys run, i guess i typed in "nugget" wrong, and the iPhone corrected it to the "N" word.

i was like "WHAT THE F***?!?!?!"

i don't understand why a word like that would be built into the iPhone...

I just tried it and mine does the same thing. That ain't right....but I guess if it's in regular dictionaries, it's on the iPhone too. Still strange.

I think they both told on their selves. I would suspect it is a commonly typed word by them also. I tried typing nugget and several different variations of it, I never got the "N" word. Maybe they both have an email or text relationship with Don Imus or "Kramer"....M:angry:

I don't think it has anything to do with the iPhone "learning" the word, as I've never typed that word into my iPhone. I typed in Nigget instead of Nugget and it gave me the N-word just as it did for the OP.

If the phone knows the word or not, was that a reason to start a thread and tell us all??? I would never post something derogatory like that, just because my phone spelled it out. I reported the OP's post to Chris and I hope they are banned. The OP should have never started a post like this. The OP was looking for an effect, I hope the effect they get is BANNED!!! Well that is for Chris to decide not you (thank God) . Please don't give me that, it's in the dictionary so it is ok to use, excuse. There are other words in the dictionary also, that are derogatory (as slang) to describe people, does that make it right??? Hell no. I'm through with it, the OP knew exactly what they were doing. My part of the country (South Florida) is about as diverse as it gets, that is not my issue. My issue is, why start such a post??? If the iPhone spelled the word then see it and don't see it. Better yet call Apple and ask them why the word is there. Why is the OP asking us, we did not engineer the phone. People always want to bring their hidden agenda to others. I know that everyone has a right to hate whomever they choose. I respect that, but like I said, don't bring that back door racism to me, then make excuses for it...M

I did not see the image, but it clearly does not have a place here. In rendering my decision on their status here at EIP, I'm not labeling the OP. I simply thought to myself, "Would I post this in an iPhone forum? Would I follow up my post with an image that would be considered offensive?"

Clearly, the OP did not think this out. Again, I don't claim to know the intent of the OP, but I do know this type of discussion has no place on EIP.
