Fortunately I had no difficulty activating my new 4 GB Iphone when I purchased it in early July. So, today I used my $100 coupon to purchase a 8GB phone. My wife is taking the hand-me-down. Well, the first thing we learned during activation was that you can't switch from an Individual Plan to a Family Plan in iTunes. If you do not select the second Individual account option and want the Family Plan option, you are directed to call AT & T. They will tell you to go back and select the second individual account option and then after activation, call them back and switch your two Individual Plans to a Family Plan. Seems like that all could have been handled automatically during activation on iTunes. Then the real shock. The AT & T representative tells me that activation is going slowly right now and that it might be until 7:00 a.m. on Monday morning until my second phone is activated. Please leave the iPhone plugged connected to computer USB port and keep the iTunes connection until activation. I thought Apple and AT & T had this activation thing under control after several months.
