so im currently with cingular, me, my mom and sister share a plan together. but i want an i phone. i dont think they will be happy if i break off from them. what should i do? is it possible to hack the iphone and just put my current sim card in there and call cingular to add internet? thanks

You don't have to do that. Just purchase the iPhone. During the activation you can transfer your current att number then just add the data plan
