Newb iphone/itunes questions

first off i tried the search button and still no luck.

just recently got my iphone and itunes and have a hard time it... i have songs and tv shows in my library, i go to file>sync "iphone", is this right? i mean i works but i loads ALL of the songs and ALL of the tv shows onto the iphone, and the vids take up a lot of space!!!...

my questions are:

how do you sync selected files to the iphone?

whats the most user/dumbass friendly software to compress videos so i can save a lot of memory on the iphone?

PLEASE HELP!

I have no idea about the video compressor but when you have your phone plugged in go to the video tab in itunes withen the iphone tab then you should be able to select what you want to syn

I just got mine too..little confusing, but a few hours of hitting / sliding buttons helped.

First open Itunes and have your Iphone hooked up.
Then click on the Iphone in the devices index (inbetween library and playlists)

Select your iPhone..

you will notice a set of tabs in the main window towards the top

Click on Video..and decide how you want it to sync.
