As a member you can add polls. Personally, I don't think it's a worthy topic. Of course everyone deserves the credit. Just because some members were more accepting, doesn't mean they didn't spend their hard earned cash on an iPhone. Steve addressed all the early adopters. That's everyone.

There was a very vocal minority stating that Apple should do nothing and that everyone should just move on. How many of them do you now expect to use the credit? I know its just a hypothetical and they all will use it but just want to see what other people are thinking.

i would say that the "more accepting" naysayers were a minority. most of the naysayers, were just plain ole a-holes.

If you didn't feel bothered enough to say something, that is one thing...but many people actually went so far as to criticize and/or put down those of us that were outraged enough to stand up and say we are not going to take this crap. I think those of you that criticized people like myself for saying the price cut was too much too soon ARE less deserving of a credit. You can't stand on principle only when it suits your financial interests or personal goals. Well, I guess you can, but what does that say about you as a person?

No one forced me to do anything and Apple did not guarantee that the price would remain at $599 for a set period of time. Well I read through some of your previous posts. You came accross like you did not care about the $200.00 price drop. Instead you and the others out there that called those of us that complained, a bunch of whiners and to "deal" with it and shut up etc, etc. Yopu all know who you are...

Job's and Apple wrote the letter admitting the mistake, they realize not just from complaints but from a business aspect, you need to take Businiess 101 class. Job's wrote the letter and gave the credit for a reason, not just the iPhone early adapters, but because he realized and his PR department realized the mistake he and Apple made. He corrected it and now it's time to move on.

I expect you will NOT partake in the $100.00 credit since you and the others were ok with the $200.00 price drop and were happy with what you have, good for you. Now don't partake in the credit. Otherwise be labled Hypocrits and anything you say or offer up on this borad should be treated as such.

Just to clarify: you didn't feel "violated" by Apple, you think we need to "grow up" and are acting childish, and you do not feel that Apple owes you any type of compensation, yet you are still going to take the store credit. I am frustrated by people like yourself who will criticize someone for standing up for themselves and then happily reap the benefits of our stuggles. Perhaps you could benefit from a little growth?

Look, I knew what I was buying when I got an iPhone. I was willing to pay the price. Heck, I even believe I got my money's worth. That said, I was upset that Apple would drop the price by so much so soon without offering anything to the folks that helped make the launch of the iPhone as successful as it apparently was. My complaint was that if the release of the iPod Touch was known 2 months ago and a price decrease on the iPhone was planned from the beginning, why charge everyone $600 unless you are hoping to bolster your margins at your most loyal consumers expense? The whole mess could have been avoided if the price was $400 from the beginning or if Apple offered the credit yesterday.

I'm happy Apple has decided to make nice and do the right thing, but disappointed that it was not their first instinct.

I said from the get go that I didnt care about the price drop, I dont feel i deserve compensation because I dont feel anything bad personally happened to me. Personally I feel sorry that Apple had to bow down to all the hate emails from "loyal" customers and pay them compensation, basically changing policies to appease people who "feel" they were taken advantage of when in my opinion I dont think you all were. But in this world of class action suits being something everyone wants to jump on I can understand why Apple did it. That and the fact that the "press" would rather jump all over a bad story and how EVIL Apple is rather then interview the people who really didnt think it was that big of a deal. The value of my iPhone for what it does for me is worth the price I paid and I cant look back and think "shouldda couldda wouldda! if I only knew now what I known then" If I did that I would never be happy with anything i ever bought or any decision i've ever made. I dont like to second guess myself and live in the past. 2 Months, 2 weeks, 2 hours or 2 years ago. Whats done is done

Let's be realistic here, even at 399 the iPhone is profitable for Apple. I truly believe they could've extended the 399 price point from the beginning. That said, it was not solely the money that bothered me (I received mine as a B-Day gift) but rather the principle. I simply hate it when companies attempt to take advantage of the consumer by price gouging. I feel the same no matter the industry (gas prices in CA are ridiculous by the way). I fully intend to accept the good faith gesture Mr. Jobs decided to extend to the Apple faithful. When you get right down to it though, it is beneficial for Apple to offer the partial refund as store credit. My company almost always chooses web credit as a first option because it doesn't cost us nearly as much as a full refund. As others have said before me, it's a win/win I guess.

Why on earth do people think Apple is bowing down to consumers by offering a $100 store credit. PLEASE. Jobs is a greedy corporate idiot who has his sole intentions set on maximizing profits on the iPhone. He wants Christmas profits twice this year and he's surely on his way with the triple hitter he is pulling.
