Tomorrow, at 9am when the stock markets open, we all go there and short Apple stock. I'm shorting 1000 shares. If we all do that the price plummets and we get our money back. And we exact a little payback on Mr. Jobs in the process!

I plan to. I bet I'll have my $200 back by lunchtime. It's as mature stealing $200 out of people's pockets through predatory business practices. Hey, nothing personal, just business. And if Apple stock goes tits up, it's not personal either ... just business.

I'm buying puts tomorrow.

By the way, this is much more moral than what Apple did. When you sell short you're completely declaring your intentions before hand.

The stock has gone down today not sure how it will be tomorrow I'm pissed off of course. But now I'm just curious as too how the market will open. If indeed it does fall then selling and buying when(if) it hits a low doesn't sound like a bad idea.

But then again the stock market is a tricky monster and you never know what will happen.:2cool:

Apple stock was down 7.4 points today. On shorting 1000 shares guess how much money that would net!

I see nothing wrong with selling your stock and making the stock plummet....Steve Jobs would do it to you in a New York Minute if it meant making more money!

Seriously, shorting the stock is a good idea. You know it's going down tomorrow, it's a sure thing. Only problem is if they gap it open lower at the bell. Wouldn't surprise me if they did.

You have enough cash to buy $1000 shares of apple, at $136/share, ($13,600) and you're complaining about $200? Odd.

True! And Apple's stock is going to go back up so over the next day or two would be a great time to buy.

Don't just sell your apple stock for a loss. SHORT SELL it.

If you don't know what selling short a stock means, look it up.

Last time I checked 136 x 1000 = 136,000

Buying a stock and selling it short are two very different things.

The last time I did a marketing class we learned the lower the price the more demand. Unless you know Apple's margins I would say you are going to loose your money in the long run.

I will wait a day or two to pick up the great buys sellers like you will leave for me to pick up at a steal.

Thanks

Plane ticket prices change by $200 in an hour. Do you complain to United when that happens?

This is good news; it will drive more iPhones to the market, which will drive more innovation, which will drive more software.

SHORT IT!! LOL ... what if it goes up????? you would be SCREWED ..

Basic shorting principle

You "borrow" stock and sell at said price (i.e. apple at 135 sold = 135,000)

If the price goes up to even 140 (VERY POSSIBLE)

The MORONS trying to save 200 dollars would net losses of .. drum roll please.... 5000$$$$$......

WHOA>>> btw .. im a youngin...

lol

But i feel for all of you... but shorting the stock would be a dumb move since apple overall is doing really well as company... laptop sales are up, and so are revenue...

BUT SHORT APPL

Bought $2,000 of Apple stock 6 years ago. Have $15,000+ now. Not complaining! I'd be really rich if ANY of my other investments had done half that good.
Won't even whine about the extra $200 I paid for the pleasure of standing in line for 4 hours on i-day. I did enjoy bonding with all those fanatics waiting with me.

It's called "swing trading". I have shorted the stock on margin and will "buy" to cover my short this afternoon when the stock tanks.

Watch!
