I just emailed this to Apple. AND Steve Jobs
I'm a long time Apple user, and am disappointed by the iPhone price drop like so many others here. It's the first and only time I've ever seen Apple drop a price so quickly after a product introduction. My letter follows:
I'm truly sad to be writing this, as I am a long time loyal mac user (since 1984!) and supporter. I've just finished reading about the new iPod/iTunes announcements and have to say I have never been more disappointed with a company before. I purchased 2 iPhones on June 29. Waited 3 hours or so in line, and was thrilled that such a great product had finally come to market. I even switched carriers after a rather nasty experience with Cingular a few years ago.
Of course I knew that one day the price would be lower, but that was OK because it should, after six months or a year. Or perhaps like most Apple products it would receive a bump in features/specs down the line. But to lop $200 off the phone when it has only been around for 2 months is just pitiful.
So I paid $400 more 2 months ago for the same product? Bad show Apple! Not only do I have to endure the "not spectacular" service of ATT, the derision of my wife (who told me we should wait - smart woman) and the ridicule of my friends and coworkers, but I feel like you just gave me a good swift kick in the pants.
I've been with Apple through the ups and downs, and even bought 5 shares of stock when it was 12 bucks as a show of support. I'm sorry to see you've chosen dollars over sense.
Sincerely,
Kurt Schneider
