I dont think its gonna kill iPhone sales. I myself will get the iPod if it has wifi and go back to a Blackberry. I think that for "business" people it gives them an iPhone like device with out the "issues" people have with the iPhone not being business friendly. I think its an AWESOME idea for people like me who are only keeping their iPhone for media stuff but still using a "business" type pda phone for business stuff. I basically just use my iPhone as a video iPod web browser now anyway so like i said i think its a GREAT idea and cant wait to get one!!!

Look I know tech advances fast in the world, and they need to expand their market ( ie iphone sells well, but this tech could sell much better at a lower price point AND to way more potential customers, but we were ripped but all buisnesses practice this, just kinda sucks lol.

As an iPhone customer, I don't regret my purchase at all..

iPhone has / iPod Touch lacks:
* Mail
* Maps / Stocks / Widgets
* Phone--convenience of convergence device

Plus other to-be-announced updates.

Why do you feel ripped off? I dont feel ripped off at all??? And i'm not even a fan boy of the iPhone. I like it and think its a great taste of whats to come, but overall i dont think an iPod that is the same as the iPhone is a ripoff? The second I got my iPhone i said to myself "damn I cant wait till they come out with an ipod like this!" Because I go through phones every 6 months to a year but keep my ipod's for at least a couple years before i upgrade. I think having a 16gig iPod touch will stay with me for a lot longer the an iPhone. Seems like everyone is like "This SUCKS" but i dont understand why? Did you all buy the phone out of hype and really dont like it and would rather have waited for just an iPod and keep your old phone? If so thats your issue. You should have know that as sick as the iphone is that Apple wasnt going to keep that technology just for one device. Come on now. Get over it (btw not picking on you because i quoted you just reading a lot of moaning posts here in the last 10 mins)

Sorry guys, I have a 4 gig and been thinking of buying a 2nd one (upgrading to a 8 gig ) and using my 4 gig as a backup... but now.. HAH.. made the decision that much easier..

the Touch will fill the iPhone overseas gap nicely. Touch's will be huge where they can't yet get an iPhone. (ebay your old iPhone?)

My guess is why they didnt make a 16 gig iPhone is due to the room they need to put the cellular transmitter in. Thats my guess..

I think the new iPod looks great. I don't see why it would detract from our iPhones... I do wish I had 16GB of memory in my iPhone. :p

The iTunes feature is very much welcomed... I've often wondered why they left this out. Now it all makes sense, they were waiting to launch the new iPod.

This means our new iPhone/iPod Touch games will be here soon, perhaps with the next release of the software! Sweet, this keeps getting better and better.

Perhaps this is in the realm of Captain Obvious, but the iPod Touch does not have full internet capability. That may seem like a minor deal but for those of us that don't have access to a WiFi spot every 100 ft, that is still a major selling point... for what it's worth.

According to the Apple store if you bought in the last 14 days you are eligible for a refund... you should give them a call.

Each Apple store is reported to sell, what, about five phones a day nowadays?

They need the Touch. And the phone price drop.

As for price, I paid $1200 for the first Beta VCR. A year later they were half that price. Companies always skim the cream off the top (the first buyers!).

actually, this might not be AS bad as I originally thought. In the pix for the ipod touch next to the iPhone it looks as if the iPhone "chrome" stands out. (as if the ipod doesn't have the chrome bezel). This would be cool, so it wouldn't be that easy to differentiate an iPhone owner to a "new iPod" owner. Not as pissed, if this is true.

Do you really think we'll get the games in an update? I was very fortunate and received my 8gb iPhone as a gift, but I feel bad for everyone who is upset. Klondike would be the icing on the cake for me!
