Default Apple Tv Price Drop

$100 price drop the 160GB version is now $229 in the US also they have got rid of the 40GB version.

On the UK Apple store the 40GB is still there but with 2-3 weeks delivery time.

Mabey Apple are just trying to get rid of there stock before they remove it.

The site doesn't list any refurbs either. Would have picked up a 40GB if it was cheap enough.

Is Apple TV really worth it? I have my Mac hooked up to my widescreen tv using the HDMI cable and it works fine. What would the additional benefits be?

I control the mac using rowmote pro, so I dont even have to leave the sofa! lol

Not many benefits over that setup... I guess the only one would be the interface is designed for use with a Tv and remote... And you also would not have to have your mac tied down to your tv.

How can I hook my 13" unibody Macbook Pro up to my Tv? What cables do I need? I'd prefer HDMI if possible...

Minidisplayport->DVI adapter

then a DVI->HDMI cable, or if you have a standard HDMI cable already that you want to use, a DVI-HDMI adapter.

like this:

good ole apple and their proprietary connections...

Then I still have to run sound out from the headphone jack, right?
