Do you think Apple didn't test their water damage indicator and that it just doesn't work and they don't know it?
I think this could be a mistake because sometimes when I pull my phone out of my pocket there is sweat on the screen. Now if it is there it could very easily be in the jack. I believe the purpose of the indicator is to make sure it hasn't been submersed in a pool, toilet, river, etc. But if my sweat caused it to change color and they gave me a hard time about the indicator being changed........I might not be a happy camper. I don't know if it is possible for this indicator to change without submersion. If it could because of its location near an opening of the phone, this could possibly affect anyone who sweats or lives in an extremely humid environment.
