Sorry dude but that doesn't work. Believe me, I tried that, moving the slider back and forth on the volume control in the ipod touch. But it doesn't do anything to effect the volume.

EDIT: By the way, I went to JR in manhattan and they took back the sony hbh-is800s with no fuss. I get my refund back to my card in a few business days.
Gawd, so close yet so far. Perhaps Apple themselves will come out with a similar product at their fall ipod event.
