I have the same issue...
jlawlor, I have the same issue - I believe it may have to do with restoring my iTunes library from a backup. I backed it up to CDs from my Mac and restored on my Windows laptop.
If you've gotten an answer on how to delete the duplicate playlists...I'd be interested to know too.
