You are probably right, but AT&T is also upgrading their system ahead of the iPhone launch. It doubles the speed of current 3G and every tower they have now can be upgraded by software and they are adding more towers this year. Plus they created a system to move some cell phones to 2G at certain times to create a better 3G environment for the smartphone users.
Exactly, all that just to keep BROWSING speeds normal. I mean if normal internet usage is killing AT&T, there's no way they can sustain video chat. Video chat requires a constant stream: upload and download for BOTH phones the chat. We would see cell towers on fire if there were video conferencing on the iphone.
