Yeah, I wouldn't recommend applying vinyl directly to the glass, it can be difficult to remove, and when it does come off, it leaves glue behind that has to be removed with solvents or powerful citrus-based adhesive removers.
I would most likely scan the front of the phone, or perhaps the screen protector, then cut and apply to the screen protector and then apply the screen protector to the phone so that the vinyl isn't directly applied to the glass. I could try and whip something out tomorrow...
