I'd like to note - unlocking an iPhone's baseband (radio) has NO effects on the security of it.

at all.

the iPhone is scary secure already, and when the programs unlock it, they close those doors back up.

and hacking into the baseband of the phone (which is the only thing touched) will have absolutely no effect for hackers.

you can't control it through the baseband only, you would need an SSH connection - which is somewhat unsecure, yes, but that's why you turn SSH off when you don't need it.
