This is what I have heard is the difference between the personal data vs enterprise data. I don't know how the phone knows the difference unless it is a software thing at ATT.
I am using push. My phone is set to push and I get my mail pushed to me. I am sure ATT only sells the enterprise data plan to people that have accounts that are in a business name.
