Default Skycaddie not coming to iPhone anytime soon

I've emailed them and it doesn't look like they like the iPhone GPS chip.

Peronally, I think they should do it with a disclaimer. I'm betting:
1. Many golfers would accept this level of accuracy for the convenience
and
2. Someone IS going to do this App, and they'll miss out.

Here is my email:

I was wondering if there is any inkling to do an app for the iPhone. Come on guys, it’s a natural fit!

And here is their response:

Subject: RE: Sky caddie on the iPhone

Dear Chris,

Thank you for contacting us and your interest in SkyGolfGPS!

As you are aware, GPS accuracy for a golfing application is extremely important. Our receivers use precision grade GPS specifically designed to provide accuracy between +/- 1 - 3 yards. The GPS available on other receivers, such as the iPhone, use standard recreational grade GPS with accuracy between +/- 3 – 8 yards. This accuracy may be fine for hunting, fishing, and mapping applications but their accuracy is not sufficient for golf.

If you have additional questions or we can be of further assistance, please let us know.

Regards,

SkyGolfGPS Customer Support
