Please forgive me this is my first post..

I also spent an hour this morning trying to fix the problem, lucky for me tapping the calender worked for me too, I had my iphone connected to computer at the same time, after tapping the calender few times and sliding the unlock key the sync sound peeped and it unlocked the screen!!

I then uninstalled it..

I repeated this step for about two times. After that, EUREKA! The touch functions returned to normal. I unchecked all the add-on features of Kate and uninstall it.

This is only based from my experience.

Hope all of you can fix it.
