Default Outlook sync problem solved.... well, sort of...

Wow, this is quite a post... took me most part of the weekend just to look through and I guess this is one of the most persistent problem case with the iPhone... I have read this for so long, it's only fair to share my bits of the experience.

My configuration:
Windows XP SP2 running Outlook 2003
iTune v.7.6.1.9
iPhone firmware v.1.1.4

I got this unit just about less than 2 weeks (moving on from my trusty Palm TX), and everything seemed fine - Got my calendar and contacts sync over from my good old Palm Desktop over to Outlook 2003, did a sync via iTune, and viola, everything just works the way it should. Few days ago, I noticed some of my newer schedule appointments didn't sync over both ways - that got me into troubleshooting mode.

So started with resetting the iPhone (thought that it might be some settings I screwed up while tinkering with its systems), then resetting the iTune - uninstall/reinstall - and worked my way up to resetting Outlook 2003.

Then I found myself reading in here, trying most of every way mentioned, and still to no avail. In the process, I uninstalled Outlook (backup my contacts, calendar, etc. first, of course) then reinstall. And guess what, it worked, but it worked ONCE only. I mean, everything sync okay both ways right after my first reinstall. It would work perfectly until you call it the day, shutdown your computer, come back the next day, and it would sync no more. Try this uninstall/reinstall Outlook trick one more time (didn't even bother to do backup data, since all the data would stay there anyway), and it syncs again.

It's a pain in the rear if I have to do this every time...
