You got really lucky. A water bottle spilled over on my iphone and after drying it and sticking it in a bowl of uncocked rice over night (rice absorbs moisture) the top part of my screen would not work on touch. I could use the bottom half but not the top. I restored and no luck. I had to get a replacement phone
