I'm not talking about GPS, but rather location based services. The difference is that location based services don't have to be as precise as GPS and it doesn't need to update on the fly since it wouldn't be used for navigation in the sense of TomTom and all that. There is a good revenue stream here. If I'm not wrong, the map applet already shows businesses near by and provides phone numbers. Google and Apple could sell this advertising feature. This could also tie into the Starbucks Wi-Fi feature. Open the map applet, it triangulates your position and shows you were the nearest iTunes enabled Starbucks is.
